Viscosity of Magma
1. Pre-demonstration questions
2. Demo on viscosity with water and maple syrup.
3. Questions to go along with demo.
4. Post-demonstration questions that have students relate viscosity of magma
to how different types of volcanoes forms.
Volcanic Hazards
1. In small groups, create a visual and present a volcanic hazard.
2. Volcanic hazards - Pyroclastic lava flows, Aa lava flows, Pahoehoe, Lahar, Volcanic Ash, Tephra
3. Start gathering information from textbook and internet sources

1. Groups work on presentations
2. Halfway through class, each group presents out what their idea is for a creative
presentation and how far along they are
3. HW is to finish presentation/prepare for presentation tomorrow
Wednesday April 1st
Volcanic Hazard Presentations
1. Each group presents
2. Graded on content (informative and correct), creativity, and how well group worked together
3. Quiz at end based on info presented by each group

Earthquakes
1. Video to introduce earthquakes
2. Write down 20 facts from the movie
Friday April 3rd

1. What would you feel if you were in an earthquake?
2. What is an earthquake?
